We have a long history making original music for brands and films, working with some of the best individual composers from around the world, while streamlining the creative through our production process.
SOUND DESIGN
We can help bring your audio project or film to life with right mix of creative sound design techniques, natural ambiences, and custom foley. Along with our in-house Lead Sound Designer Beau Milkis, we have a host of freelancers with different specialties and backgrounds to enhance the sonic breadth of any show.
FINAL MIX
We offer Final Mix for all forms of digital delivery, including Stereo, Binaural, and Dolby Atmos.
Creative Development
Many audio dramas are being adapted from screenplays. We have experience providing insight in how best to move a story from screen to podcast format that feels elegant and natural to the story. Our Managing Director, Winnie Kemp, has over 10 years experience as a network development executive, and has worked on shows for Netflix, Sundance, and others.
DIRECTING
Alex Kemp has directed Toni Collette, Corey Hawkins, Winston Duke, John Rhys-Davies, Lance Reddick, Haley Joel Osment, Chris Diamontoplis and Shea Wigham among others. The performances he’s captured have won numerous awards and nominations in the field. He believes that microphones can ‘hear the truth.’
Non-fiction podcasts
While our expertise focuses on narrative fiction, we’ve worked with Discovery+ to bring our style and polish to the realm of Non-Fiction, and we’re inventing new hybrid stories as well. Our studio B is the perfect environment to record single narration or Host and Guest style interviews. Contact us for more information.

WINNIE KEMP
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Before joining WATD, Winnie Kemp served as SVP of television development at Super Deluxe, a disruptive entertainment brand dedicated to cultivating diverse auteurs and amplifying unconventional creative voices. Winnie developed and produced two seasons of This Close, a groundbreaking dramedy series on Sundance Channel— the first television show to be created by deaf writers which was nominated for Best Comedy Series by the GLAAD and for a Peabody Award. Winnie also developed and executive produced Chambers, a YA supernatural thriller, for Netflix, the first tv show from a major network to have a Native American starring in a lead role. Winnie was among Adweek’s 2017 list of female disruptors in media, one of Variety's 2018 New Leaders in Television and a 2019 Women in Film Insight Fellow.
ALEX KEMP
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, Alex signed to record labels including Virgin and Arista, before shifting into commercial and indie film work. His first audio drama, THE IMPERFECTION, was an Official Selection at Tribeca Film Fest 2021, and was nominated for Best Podcast of the Year and Best Fiction Script Writing at the 2022 Ambies. His podcast MODES OF THOUGHT IN ANTERRAN LITERATURE was an official selection at Tribeca Film Festival 2022. He directed and mixed BATMAN UNBURIED for Warner Bros/ Spotify/ DC Comics, which was the first fiction podcast to climb to number one on the podcast charts at Spotify globally. He’s directed actors including Corey Hawkins, Winston Duke, John Rhys-Davies, Gina Rodriguez, Toni Colette, and Haley Joel Osment for audio drama.
CHICA BARBOSA
HEAD OF PRODUCTION
Chica is a Producer & Director raised between Mexico and Brazil. Before moving to the US, Chica owned a production company in São Paulo, Brazil, where she produced and directed documentaries, independent feature films, shorts, commercials and branded content. Her work has been showcased in film festivals/markets like IDFA, Frameline, DOC NYC, IDA Awards, Outfest, Sheffield Doc Fest and Latino Media Market at NALIP. Chica was also selected as a Berlinale Talents at the Guadalajara International FF and as a mentee of the Diverse Women in Media Forum Mentorship Program hosted by NALIP - National Association of Latino Independent Producers. She is currently developing her first narrative feature to be produced between Mexico & the US and is also producing the feature documentary "Esu and the Universe'', a production between Brazil and Nigeria.

Beau makes the sounds with the things. He worked at other places making sounds, and he graduated from a school with a degree in sound-making, and lately he’s making sounds over here.

Before WATD, Lou created her own podcasting degree at Columbia College Chicago by combining studies in radio and journalism. There she produced the first all-news show on WCRX-FM, and covered the 2020 U.S. presidential election as a reporter following Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden on the campaign trail. Lou kicked off her professional career at WBBM Newsradio and was part of the team that won the 2023 National Edward R. Murrow Award for Breaking News. In 202, she made her first venture into fiction joining Evening Post Productions and helping them to launch the second season of the award-winning indie fiction podcast “Death By Dying.”
